Easter 2017

palm leaves

By Larry Peacock

Hushed voices,
Quiet footsteps,
Saddened hearts,
On the way to the tomb.
Proper rites,
Death as usual.
But. Not this morning!
Not this time!
The Son rises!
Alleluias bounce off the walls.
Love tap dances on the tomb.
Joy explodes.
Hope released.
Compassion rekindled.
Love wins,
And we are changed!
One amazing, death-shattering Easter story,
Causing us to laugh and smile,
To love mightily and to pray deeply,
To do good passionately and sing boldly. Alleluia!
